Canaan is a town in Litchfield County located in Connecticut. The town of Canaan is often referred by its principal constituent village which is Falls Village. American Revolutionary War soldier and historian Lemuel Roberts was born in Canaan in 1755. It is always tempting to begin the history of a town with its political organization.
